Madonna del Carmine

Church existing since the 15th century, later modified and expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Located in an interesting archaeological area unfortunately still little explored.

Near the church, there is a particular dry stone wall in which monolithic elements are inserted at regular intervals, placed vertically. The wall follows a curve that corresponds to an arc of a circle. It is hypothesized that the wall was originally circular and contained a small water basin.

At the center of the circle was the “piera da l’aga”, now at the museum of Villa Savorgnan.

Rainwater, collected in a hollow by this stone, was traditionally considered beneficial for eyesight.
