San Tommaso

Beyond a small wall past the churchyard, you can access the church of San #Tommaso Apostolo, dating back to the early 1500s. The stone portal, once erroneously attributed to Pilacorte, has the monogram of Christ IHS and the Greek alphabet letters, alpha and omega, carved below the architrave, symbolizing the beginning and the end; while in the lunette, a statue depicts an angel.

👉The rather bare interior hosts almost as its sole protagonist the canvas by Pomponio #Amalteo🎨 of the Incredulity of Thomas, dated 1533. The flooring is a recently made Venetian terrazzo.
