Sesto al Reghena

There were also prisons

The building, made of bricks, is located near the bell tower, to the west of the courtyard, in front of the church and the adjoining abbey residence, but positioned further north. The palace most likely dates back to the period between the end of the 12th and the beginning of the 13th century, but over time it has undergone alterations, renovations, and restorations that make it extremely difficult to reconstruct its original layout and also the function it had within the Sesto complex: probably, the palace was the seat of the civil institution that faced the religious one, the residence of the abbot. The prisons were also located here.
