The Town Hall
It was already built in 1606 as a “hospitio per persone nobili con letti, et in somma con tutte le comodità” (Pia Casa) serving the pilgrims of the adjacent Sanctuary. In 1740, a document from the Pia Casa regulated hospitality for the caretaker, a doctor, a school (two teachers: one elementary and the other of Latin), but also for the lieutenant of Udine who spent two months a year on vacation and for Bishop Gabrieli who “la magior parte del anno dimorava a Cordovado”.
For almost the entire nineteenth century, it was still owned by the “Luogo Pio Elemosiniere”, then, on June 27, 1884, it was transferred to the Municipality as a town hall and school. It houses an interesting fresco of Madonna allattante by Giuseppe Moretto.
The character: Francesco Cecchini (1819-1897)

He actively worked in all the social and charitable organizations of the town, leaving all his assets to the community.
He served as mayor of Cordovado from 1882 to 1897.
