Valvasone

The enchantment of the wheel moved by the swirling fresh waters of the "Roggia dei Mulini" is a precious gift reconstructed by a group of local artisans in 1994 and then donated by them to the entire community.

The ancient mill of Valvasone exploited the driving force of the water that flowed in the defense ditch of the first castle wall.

"Irma" is the name chosen for this artistic work, which over the years has become one of the most picturesque and photographed views of the ancient Medieval Village of Valvasone Arzene.

Beside it, what remains of the ancient Mill, now turned into a private residence, with the splendid frescoed facade recently restored.

Thanks to this intervention, paintings hidden for years have appeared, among which stands out a "Leone Marciano" and several figures of a sacred nature.

Still evident on the facade is the date "1473," the year in which it is believed to have been plastered.
