Torre Occidentale

The monument, also known as "Porta Nova," is documented from 1399. Over the centuries, it underwent numerous architectural modifications. On the external facade, some important fragments of frescoes executed at the beginning of the 16th century survive: the "leone marciano" holding the coat of arms of the "Signori di Spilimbergo" and the decoration of the base with faux ashlars.

In 1855, the wooden doors were removed, the opening was enlarged, a plaster was added that covered the ancient decorations, and the balcony with balustrade was opened.
