In Sappada, the 4th edition of Gustosa Sappada is taking place, the mountain gastronomy festival scheduled from July 13 to 21 and organized by the Consorzio turistico Sappada Dolomiti in collaboration with the tourism department of the Comune di Sappada and PromoTurismo Fvg. The format that includes the event taking place both in restaurants and outdoors, in the wonderful natural setting of Sappada, with a market exhibition of artisanal products from both the agri-food and artistic sectors, has been reconfirmed.
The event, which highlights the gastronomic excellence of the locality and nearby Forni Avoltri, features local chefs who are called to present a tasting menu specially designed with a specific theme, which for this 4th edition is sustainability. Restaurants, refuges, food shops, and ice cream parlors, 20 in total, will prepare dishes and gastronomic proposals using mostly zero-kilometer products, which represent an extrinsic value for the territory. Tourists can participate in a 9-day gastronomic tour between Sappada and Forni Avoltri, enjoying the renowned agri-food offerings of the two locations with tastings of delicious cheeses made from the milk of cows grazing at high altitudes and local sausages in the characteristic shops of the village; or choose to indulge in a lunch or dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants and refuges offering the best of typical cuisine.
The novelties of this 4th edition concern the market exhibition scheduled for the two weekends of July 13/14 and 20/21, which, from the silvio pastoral path number 5 where it was held in past years, moves to the cycle-pedestrian track that runs along the Piave, refurbished on the occasion of the Giro d’Italia, in the stretch, about 1 kilometer long, between Pian dei Nidi (next to the sports field) up to the hut of the local Ana section.
The second novelty is the number of exhibitors, which will be more than 40 and from all over Friuli Venezia Giulia: there will be the opportunity to taste and purchase the Gubana della Nonna, the Dolce di Aquileia, the Cipolla di Chivasso, the cheese from Malga Tuglia, herbal teas prepared with medicinal herbs from Sappada, essential oils from Claut, extra virgin olive oil from the Consorzio Produttori del Friuli Venezia Giulia and much more.
