The Nativity Scenes

“Poffabro, presepe fra i presepi” is the evocative event that takes place every winter from mid-December to mid-January.

Among the cobbled streets of the village and the seventeenth-century courtyards, up to the most hidden corners, illuminated for once, you can discover over a hundred nativity scenes, always different, tiny or imposing, simple or elaborate, from the most traditional to the most imaginative.

"Here we are again in December, which gives so much cold to the body but fills the heart with joy and floods us with a burst of magic that fills our lives.

And it is precisely this magic that can be felt in Poffabro starting from December 5th when at 5 pm the XXIV edition of “Poffabro Presepe tra i Presepi” will be inaugurated.

The valley transforms: the nativity scenes unexpectedly emerge from the balconies, from the most secret corners of the seventeenth-century courtyards, on the windowsills or in tiny niches in the stone walls. There are over 150 that during the Christmas period transform Poffabro into a fairy-tale open-air museum every year.

It is an exhibition of creations by artists or simple enthusiasts, made with the most diverse materials assembled with just as many techniques. Everything unfolds in a suggestive setting with flowers, decorations, Christmas music, and lights capable of enchanting visitors.

Poffabro thus takes on a particular charm at dusk: when the candles are lit and the soft lighting makes the atmosphere enchanted. An experience that deserves to be lived especially on weekdays when the silence allows us to look and reflect in our deepest inner self.

The nativity scenes will be on display until Sunday, January 16th.

Val Colvera wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and asks all visitors to respect the current regulations so that everyone carries in their heart a meaningful and profound experience that gives relief to the body and soul, especially in this moment of pandemic crisis".
