Documentary Museum of the City
Housed in the building formerly belonging to the namesake Foundation, established in the 1800s by Giuseppe Bartolomeo Maccari and home to educational and training institutes until the 1970s, today the Cultural Center of Casa Maccari is municipal property and hosts within its walls, with renewed setups and new and expanded services, the Civic Library, the Documentary Museum of the City, a Conference Room, and a Laboratory Room/Youth Space.
A space for study, reading, information, learning, but also for viewing, discovery, play, and entertainment: in general, a meeting place, open and aimed at all generations, citizens and tourists, scholars and the simply curious, attentive to ensuring social inclusion and integration of disadvantaged categories and people with disabilities.
A modern and functional space where a new hi-tech civic library is located, but also conference rooms, research spaces, and technological stations.
The "Documentary Museum of the City," formally established in 1963 and in fact existing in Gradisca d'Isonzo since the mid-1980s at Palazzo Torriani, now finds an appropriate location on the second floor of "Casa Maccari," significantly expanded and redesigned in scientific content and setup.
