The most beautiful night of summer 2024
A very rich program.
The rhythm of passions, the rhythm of emotions.
This is the common thread of Notte Romantica 2024, an important event that takes place simultaneously throughout Italy and has its own distinct identity in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The thirteen "Borghi più belli d’Italia" present a unified program that unfolds in thirteen interpretations of the idea of passion and emotion, thirteen different variations on the theme. A widespread event that also tells the peculiarities of these Borghi - by their nature, intrinsically “human to human” - capable of offering those unique nuances to the needs and special feelings for each individual.
An unmissable widespread weekend with fun, moving, dynamic, passionate, musical, theatrical, choreographic, romantic events: a program to be together and together discover the places, people, flavors, and traditions of truly unique “ecosystems” to also witness through the photographic contest "Borghi Click".
Here are the main initiatives of Notte Romantica which will be accompanied by other collateral activities that we invite you to discover: preview in Palmanova with a tribute to the romantic poetry of tragic and lost existences of Janis Joplin, Jimy Hendrix, and Jim Morrison for the Music Festival; the surprising and entertaining contemporary circus theater show “Sconcerto d’amore” in Cordovado; the soothing harmony of strings to reinterpret classical, pop, rock pieces in “Vivaldi on the rock” in Gradisca; the alluring energy and dynamism of the dance of Kataklò Athletic Dance in Sesto al Reghena; a site-specific visual-concert in Strassoldo; the dreamlike and somewhat irreverent liveliness of Balkan music by Radio Zastava in Polcenigo; the comedic musical involvement of the eclectic Banda Osiris in Valvasone; the dinner under the stars between the liveliness of samba and the saudade of Bossanova in Poffabro; the passion in the different musical nuances of tango with the talented N.E.J. Quartet in Clauiano; the overwhelming energy of Funkasin Street Band in Sappada; a concert/performance for theremin and cello in Toppo; and, in closing, in Fagagna, at dawn a concert on the extraordinary notes of Nino Rota and, in the evening, the ancient flavor of popular traditions with the initiative dedicated to the Notte di San Giovanni.
We look forward to seeing you!

INVISIBLE BLUES
With Leo Virgili and Riccardo Pes
100 years after its invention, the Theremin is still the only instrument played without any physical contact with the performer.
In this concert/performance, multi-instrumentalist Leo Virgili and cellist Riccardo Pes create an instrumental repertoire capable of highlighting the nuances and versatility of the "invisible" instrument.
A suite where the two musicians and authors alternate their original compositions with the scores of Morricone, Bach, and Zimmer, creating a refined blend of classical, folk, and contemporary.
Filed recordings, natural sounds, and cinematic dialogues reproduced from ancient tapes overlap with the melodies expertly presented by the two soloists in an original blend of analog and digital. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to a date to be determined.

LA MORTEANE (PART DAL FANTAT)
from a lost text by Pier Paolo Pasolini
Associazione Culturale Arearea ETS
“I wrote a one-act play, ‘La Morteana’ (the title is derived from a verse by Colloredo)”
Pasolini is twenty-three years old and is experiencing that extraordinary Friulian season that will abruptly end only four years later, with the escape to Rome, opening a new season of his life and his poetics. ‘La Morteana’ was destined to be performed shortly thereafter by the small Compagnia dell’Academiuta, which Pasolini himself directed. But this never happened, and the reasons for this failure are unknown.
In fact, unlike the contemporary ‘I Turcs tal Friul’, which has reached us, nothing more was known about ‘La Morteana’ until the fortunate discovery of a part of the script, specifically the ‘Part dal Fantat’, which emerged from a desk drawer many years later.
The found manuscript contains only the lines that were supposed to be spoken by what is deduced to be the protagonist of the play, a circumstance that corresponds to Pasolini's habit of giving each actor not the complete text, but only their part in the work to be performed.
