Preface by the President of the Club:
In March 2001, the club de I Borghi più Belli d'Italia was born at the initiative of the Tourism Council of the Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI). This initiative arose from the need to enhance the great heritage of History, Art, Culture, Environment, and Traditions present in the small Italian centers that are, for the most part, marginalized from the flows of visitors and tourists. Indeed, there are hundreds of small villages in Italy at risk of depopulation and consequent degradation due to a situation of marginality compared to the economic interests that revolve around the tourist and commercial movement.
For this reason, it was decided to establish a Product Club that would gather the rightful needs of those administrators who are more attentive and sensitive to the protection and enhancement of the Village and who intended to participate with conviction in such an important and demanding associative structure.
