The lake of Cordovado, which is about 4 hectares, was a former gravel quarry, started in 1952 and completed in the early '80s. The extraction of gravel material was carried out to a depth of 13 meters, which is the current depth of the lake. This excavation affected the groundwater present in the subsoil, thus giving rise to the current body of water.

In 1989, on the initiative of the Sport Fishing Association, fishing activities began.
